Can you apply for scholarships before being accepted to the university or college?

No, unless otherwise stated. You must have applied to the university or college, and have been accepted in order to apply for scholarships and financial awards provided by the Bradley McPherson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Once you have been accepted/considered your application will be reviewed and if chosen, and accept the offer in return. Then a scholarship will be award towards your continued education enrollment.

What is the average amount of the scholarships and is it based on financial need?

Financial need eligibility will depend on the scholarship administrator. You may be asked to declare your ability to pay your tuition based on your household income, living situation, etc. Contacting the scholarship administrator would be a great way to understand what they are looking for from applicants who indicate themselves to be in financial need

I have lived in B.C., Canada since birth but someone I know isn’t a Canadian citizen and wants to apply for this scholarship as well, can they?

This scholarship is only for a Canadian citizen born in B.C. preferably in the Fraser Valley area. If the scholarship administrator specifically states that their scholarship is only open to Canadian citizens, then you shouldn’t apply to this award.

What's the best way to research if you might be eligible for this scholarships?

Talking to your guidance counsellor about scholarship opportunities is also a great resource. Or you
